World of Warcraft gets player housing in the next expansion Midnight. In this article we take a look at what we know so far.

How to get a house?

Houses are free, you get 2 houses when the feature releases. One in Stormwind and one in Orgrimmar. These houses are warbound so you share them with all your alts. Alliance alts can also use the Orgrimmar house and Horde characters can use the one in Stormwind too. There is no upkeep of any kind so basicly you can just get a house and use it.

Neighborhoods

Your house wil be in a neighborhood. Each type of neighborhood has 50 lots, so you share it with 49 other players. There are 2 types of neighborhoods, public and private. Public neighborhoods have random players put together. This will always be the same players so its not like having other neighbors all the time. The private neighborhoods can be created by one player and that player can invite 49 others. This is something that we need to talk about as guild because how cool would it be to have Coconutpete or Polinczki living next door? I wil create a forum topic for this.

Decorating

As expected you can decorate your home. You can create rooms and fill them with items. The housing editor is very detailed so you can be very creative when decorating your house. You can change colors, turn angles and even disable psychics and merge multiple items together. You can obtain furniture by doing all kind of content in game. If you for example want some Kul’tiran furniture, you might want to do Waycrest manor a few times or use your BFA blacksmithing skills. You want some Metal and spiky stuff? Dreanor is the place to go, and so on. Furniture can drop from dungeons, quests, achievements and professions.
